Choice Camps Recommendation of AAVE: Ultimate Alps
Since 1976, more than 10,000 students from 48 U.S. states and over 40 countries have enjoyed AAVE trips throughout the world. AAVE programs combine adventure travel with service work, language study, and wilderness skills through carefully-crafted itineraries. All AAVE programs include community service projects which contribute to the environment and communities visited.
The "All About Visiting Earth" community consists of teenagers who choose active participation, individual responsibility, and who respect and care about one another. AAVE trips are led by top-notch trip leaders who teach skills that lead to a lifetime of exploration, friendship, enjoyment, and personal growth. For families looking for a summer that will exceed their expectations for leadership, safety, adventure, fun, and depth of programming, AAVE may be the perfect choice.
Trip Description
You kick off your trip in the Les Deux Alps where you ski or snowboard with experienced mountain guides on the world's largest skiable glacier. Each morning you practice your downhill skills and enjoy adventure activities in the afternoon such as whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking to ice caves and cascading waterfalls, and racing down a summer luge.
NORTHERN ITALY:
Romeo & Juliet's fair Verona, quaint Italian shops, and restaurants serving authentic pasta are all a delight! The jagged peaks of the Dolomites are the backdrop for a three-day backpack in mountainous terrain. Next, you rock climb among the cloud-veiled peaks and savor amazing views.
Swiss Alps:
World famous Interlaken is your home as you get comfortable in one of the local Swiss farmhouses. You wake board, water ski and spend some more time on the slopes with the towering Alps surrounding you. For your service project you have the opportunity to give back to the beautiful areas you've been enjoying. The town of Zermatt allows for some souvenir shopping and relaxation before you say goodbye to your new friends and the trip of a lifetime!
