Great Connections
by Erin L. - Former CamperNever, not once in my life, have I missed a camp so much. Arowhon is an amazing place, and it’s mostly the campers I have to thank for it. Everybody just welcomed me to this new camp, I arrived knowing nobody because it was my first time there and I left knowing and loving every single camper.
A Second Home

As if all this weren’t enough, Arowhon has given me the opportunity to try new things. Everything from canoeing to windsurfing to tripping has taught me a lot about who I am and what I am capable of.
No Place Like It

I grew exponentially as a person, and I attribute much of who I am and what I so strongly believe in to what I learned both as a camper and as a CIT. I will never forget the skills and self-knowledge that you and so many exceptional staff members have taught me, and let me learn on my own, over the years. The overnight camping experience is unbelievably deep, and every child should have the privilege of experiencing it.
Yet another thing that I sorely miss about Arowhon is the pillars of belief and mission statements that you hold on to. I can't even tell you how often the topic of your firm hold on the values and traditions of camp comes up around the dinner table. Parents choose Arowhon because they know that. You miss it when it's gone. Arowhon really is so much more than a camp - it is my home, and there's no place like it.
Definitely Going Back
by Diane D. - Parent of CamperDaniel’s experiences at camp have truly enriched his life and had a significant impact on his personal development. My son attended Arowhon this summer for the first time. As I heard him explain to a friend today, he didn’t think he’d like it but he found he loved it and when asked if he’d go back he said ‘I’m definitely going back next year’. Daniel felt emotionally supported and cared for by his counsellors, Sam and Jesse. The separation from his Mom and Dad was a very big event in Daniel’s life. His counsellors helped him not only to manage it but to benefit by it. Once he felt emotionally comfortable he was able to have lots and lots of fun, many new adventures and make lots of new friends.
Incredible Summer Camp
by Amy R. - Parent of CamperMy daughter Anna had a great time. Anna has $500 saved up for a kayak! Once she has it, I have to find a place where she can practice her rolls. The best part about Camp Arowhon to me, especially when one has an adolescent daughter, is the competence and confidence it inspires. It's about skill and working hard at something, not the nonsense that doesn't last or is fleeting (ie, clothes, popularity and looks). I love and appreciate that so much. Thanks to everyone who works hard all year to make Camp Arowhon happen....
