Program Description
Camp Friendship’s programs are designed with each individual camper in mind. Campers choose the activities they want to participate in during their session and essentially design their own schedule that fits their interests. A variety of outdoor and indoor activities are offered allowing campers to experience the best of both worlds.
Camp Friendship’s Junior Program is designed for campers ages 8-12 and combines individually selected and group activities. Campers can choose from over 40 traditional and non-traditional camp activities including mountain biking, drama, kayaking, photography courses and African drumming. Evening and weekend activities are group-focused and include talent shows, theme nights and scavenger hunts.
Campers ages 13-16 attend Camp Friendship’s Senior Program and stay in the Senior Village. Campers are given the freedom to select activities to fill five different periods throughout the day. More adventurous campers can choose to participate in the Senior Challenge Program which offers different small group, overnight trip options including caving, canoeing, rock climbing and whitewater rafting.
Staff Overview
Campers are supervised and cared for by nurturing staff members at Camp Friendship. Staff members are carefully selected teachers and college students from the United States and countries around the world. All counselors participate in an intensive, mandatory three week training session prior to the opening of the camp. All instructors are experienced in the areas they teach and have received all necessary documented training.
