Greatest Gift
by Sherri - Alumnus and ParentI don’t care if you are a camper a counselor or parent, when you’re coming on that pointer and you’re rounding the bend …and you hear the bell ringing and you see everyone in front of the docks and all the kids and everyone is part of the excitement of being together and sharing the respect for all of the beauty that’s around us and for each other, and it’s the greatest gift that I know that I can give my kids.
Magnificent
by Sandy Bittker - ParentIt’s the most magnificent sight probably in the world…it’s breathtaking and I think that our kids really appreciate the beauty of Tamakwa and Algonquin Park and they love to go on the long canoe trips which I think is really special.
Special
by Brian Hermelin - Alumnus and ParentI think that the most special thing about Tamakwa is that it teaches you how to laugh. You laugh as a group, you laugh as a cabin. It is a great place to learn to socialize and to have a good time.
Want to Stay!
by Michelle - ParentI love Tamakwa because my kids are free to be themselves... who they really are... creative, happy, and I hate leaving them here but I love seeing them because they are so, so happy… and don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate leaving because I miss them, I hate leaving because I want to stay!
Special Experience
by Eydie - ParentWe look at the pictures on the website and my husband always says “everybody’s hugging” and I say “that’s Tamakwa”. That’s what it is. Everybody is one big family & they know they’re all having a very special experience here. Something they could never have anywhere else… doing things that they would never do anywhere else and I think that’s really what Tamakwa is.
So Special
by Ed & Todd - Alumnus and ParentTamakwa is so special because of the tradition that has existed for over 70 years. That over the 70 years it hasn’t changed here. It seems to be timeless and after generations, and this is our family’s 3rd generation, to be here at camp after coming back here after 25 years, it looks the same and feels the same and it’s really what makes it so special. The same feelings we had when we were kids here, those were passed down to our kids and they have their own experiences and enjoy Tamakwa the same way we did.
