Camp Wekeela is a premier camp for boys and girls located in beautiful Maine. Located in Hartford, ME on Little Bear Pond, campers age 6-16 spend special summer. What makes Wekeela special are the strong, loyal bonds we create. Our campers become like family. Long after camp ends for the summer, we remain in touch. Year after year, over 80% of Wekeela campers return to renew the close friendships they have made and many of them return as counselors.

Program Description

We’ve developed leading-edge activity programming that includes creative and performing arts, water-sports, athletics and out-of-camp excursions. Programs are tailored to meet your child’s needs and we encourage our campers to make choices, take risks and accept new challenges.

Whether it’s learning to play the guitar, improving their tennis game or making friends with someone from a different state or country, your child will have a summer filled with memories that will last a lifetime.

Staff Overview

Wekeela' staff members are highly trained professional educators and mature college students who have a wealth of camping and teaching experience. They help foster Wekeela values of family, friendship and learning in everything they do They have department heads, group leaders and counselors that come to Wekeela from the US, Europe and South America. And, many of staff are former Wekeela campers. The rich diversity of experiences and cultures serves as a wonderful introduction for our campers to learn about the wider world around them.

Safety Standards

Camp Wekeela has on-site camp doctors and nurses. The camp is an AED (automated external defibrillator) equipped facility.
