Choice Camps Recommendation of SeaTrek BVI: Trek Two - Advanced
Whether you’ve never stepped foot onto a boat or are a seasoned yachting veteran, SeaTrek offers water-based adventures for all ability levels. Students are engaged in everything on the boat - from charting and sailing to snorkeling, free diving, and SCUBA. SeaTrek students literally run the boat on which they live and leave the program with a wealth of yachting knowledge. Each voyage teaches a perfect balance of self-sufficiency and team-oriented cooperation skills.
Most SeaTrek participants have never been on a large boat much less at sea for several days; travelers just need to come with an open mind and a willingness to learn. The SeaTrek programs are designed to take the novice diver or sailor and turn them into a confident, experienced leader. Small groups of 8 to 10 participants give the program an intimate feel where each student gets the attention they deserve. By the end of each voyage, students will be able to navigate, sail, and anchor a yacht all by themselves!
Trip Description
Trek 2 offers SCUBA-certified students diving-intensive adventures. Certifications include NAUI Advanced Open Water Diver, NAUI Rescue Diver, and NAUI Specialty Certifications.
Staff Overview

Each boat is operated by a USCG licensed captain, has a dedicated marine biologist, a dedicated NAUI scuba instructor, and a deckhand who has a minimum certification of Dive Master.
Setting & Accommodations
SeaTrek uses The Moorings 4500 yacht as the program platform. The 4500 has four cabins and four heads. Cabins have ample room to stow clothing, lamps for reading, and a double size beds. While travelers share a cabin with 2-4 other Trekers, most time is spent above deck. SeaTrek use multi-hull yachts that allow for ample sleeping area from shared cabins to waterproof hammocks used to sleep out under the stars.
The yacht has a spacious lounge and galley where students and the staff prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also an outdoor shaded sitting area called the cockpit where the helm is located. Every SeaTrek yacht is easy to sail, has abundant space, and is a perfect platform for diving.
Safety Standards
All SeaTrek staff members are Rescue Diver and CPR/First Aid Certified with most being CPR and First Aid Instructors. SeaTrek also employs a paramedic and two EMTs for the program.
All diving equipment is purchased at the beginning of each summer and all tanks and compressors are serviced regularly to insure peak performance.
SeaTrek operates dive training under the umbrella of NAUI instruction rather than PADI. NAUI is the "Oldest Scuba Training Agency in the Country" and their motto is "Dive Safety thru Education."
