Choice Camps Recommendation of Wellspring Wisconsin
The results don’t lie; since 2004, Wellspring weight loss camps have been renowned because they work. Based on decades of scientific research, Wellspring’s programs are simple and sustainable for long-term weight loss results. Best of all, the vast majority of campers maintain or continue weight loss after camp, gain skills for long-term weight control, and enjoy the summer camp experience of a lifetime.
The average four-week camper at Wellspring loses 4.25 pounds per week, and eight-week campers typically lose 30 pounds. In follow-up studies, over 70% of campers lose another 10% or more of their body weight in the year after camp. In addition to dramatic weight change, participants notice significant improvements in mood, attitude, and outlook. For campers serious about making lifestyle changes while enjoying an exciting camp experience, Wellspring Camps may be the perfect fit.
Program Description
Wellspring Camps provide a scientifically-based behavioral change program focused on long-term weight loss. The goal of Wellspring Camps is to expose campers who are more than 20 pounds overweight to different ways to get in shape and lose weight so that they continue to be active after camp ends.
Campers take a journey to 10,000 steps per day through sports, aerobic, and personal enrichment activities. Campers are typically grouped by age and gender, maximizing the program for each participant’s needs and body type. In addition to recreational activities, campers meet with doctorate-level behavior coaches to make long-lasting changes in attitude and self esteem.
Staff Overview
Because Wellspring is a year-round weight loss program, professionals are employed throughout the year and have long-term dieting and lifestyle experience. Behavioral Coaches are all doctorate level instructors. In addition, Wellspring specifically hires medical and dietary specialists who craft the program and work closely with campers.
