Windsor Mountain Student Travel: Bridge Peru is designed for students interested in traveling to an exciting destination to share in cross-cultural experiences, community service learning, and language opportunities. Students should join this program ready to immerse themselves in Peruvian culture as they connect with Spanish-speaking peers on travel excursions and community service projects. Students should arrive with an open mind, prepared to meet new people, experience new cultures, and try new foods!

Trip Description

Advanced Spanish language learning and cultural exploration at the crossroads of the ancient, the colonial, and the modern. Family home stays in Cusco. Service projects in tiny mountain villages and bustling modern cities. Create and teach fun activities and games for Indigenous and Mestizo children. Sea kayaking on Lake Titicaca. Andean Condors in Colca Canyon. Extreme sightseeing in Ollyantaytambo, Machu Picchu, and Waynu Picchu. Spectacular natural beauty and historic architecture. Experienced trip leaders maximize every teachable moment by creating a group dynamic which fosters intellectual curiosity. Students observe and discuss complex issues related to global economics, international relations, and the effects of tourism on local peoples and the environment. Perfect for the savvy teenage traveler eager to speak as much Spanish as possible and discover the amazing treasure of Peru.

Staff Overview

Windsor Mountain Student Travel leaders are professional educators over the age of 23 who come from all over the world. Many have backgrounds in classroom teaching, outdoor education, international relations and/or humanitarian aid.

Each leader is put through a lengthy interview process, and required to participate in a 2 week pre-trip staff training at Windsor Mountain’s International Summer Camp.

Setting & Accommodations

Accommodations include home stays, rustic cabins, and hostels.

Throughout the trip, students learn basic cooking skills. Windsor Mountain travel groups make nutritious, tasty meals which help students keep up the level of energy needed to participate in an active summer adventure. Program leaders can almost always accommodate special dietary needs.

Safety Standards

All counselors have extensive travel experience and are trained in first aid and CPR.

Windsor Mountain International is accredited by the American Camp Association and meets more than 300 safety standards set forth by the organization.
