Windsor Mountain Student Travel: Bridge Puerto Rico is designed for students interested in traveling to an exciting destination to share in cross-cultural experiences, community service learning, and language opportunities. Students should join this program ready to immerse themselves in Puerto Rican culture as they live with Spanish-speaking families, work on community service projects, and discover the natural beauty of the island. Students should arrive with an open mind, prepared to meet new people, experience new cultures, try new foods, and dance Salsa!
Travel with Windsor Mountain to Puerto Rico and discover the perfect entry-level international student travel destination, and you dont even need a passport! Spanish language learning, family home stays and delicious traditional cooking. Wild horses on the stunning beaches of Vieques, tropical rainforests, surfing, caving and canyoning. Organic farming and environmental consciousness. Windsor Mountain students embark on an action packed adventure with a great balance of culture, education, service, and fun.
Windsor Mountain Student Travel leaders are professional educators over the age of 23 who come from all over the world. Many have backgrounds in classroom teaching, outdoor education, international relations and/or humanitarian aid.
Each leader is put through a lengthy interview process, and required to participate in a 2 week pre-trip staff training at Windsor Mountains International Summer Camp.
Setting & Accommodations
Accommodations include rustic camping and home stays.
Throughout the trip, students learn basic cooking skills. Windsor Mountain travel groups make nutritious, tasty meals which help students keep up the level of energy needed to participate in an active summer adventure. Program leaders can almost always accommodate special dietary needs.
Safety StandardsAll counselors have extensive travel experience and are trained in first aid and CPR. Windsor Mountain International is accredited by the American Camp Association and meets more than 300 safety standards set forth by the organization.
