Windsor Mountain Student Travel: Vermont Cycling teaches participants the basics of cycle touring and leave-no-trace camping. Students should look forward to extensive cycle touring, visiting renewable energy resources, and working on service projects that enrich the environment.

Trip Description

GO GREEN! Cruise the majestic Green Mountains and the breathtaking Champlain Valley. Learn the fundamentals of cycle touring and leave-no-trace camping. Visit cutting-edge grassroots environmental organizations. Study alternative energy solutions and sustainable landscape agriculture. In a postcard perfect setting, Windsor Mountain students will get back to basics: two wheels, two strong legs, small country roads, and quiet lakeside campsites. Healthy living, environmental consciousness, and a ‘green’ mode of traveling. With this fantastic, fun, and challenging program, Windsor Mountain would like to welcome everyone back to Planet Earth!

Staff Overview

Windsor Mountain Student Travel leaders are professional educators over the age of 23 who come from all over the world. Many have backgrounds in classroom teaching, outdoor education, international relations and/or humanitarian aid.

Each leader is put through a lengthy interview process, and required to participate in a 2 week pre-trip staff training at Windsor Mountain’s International Summer Camp.

Setting & Accommodations

Throughout the trip, students learn basic cooking skills. Windsor Mountain travel groups make nutritious, tasty meals which help students keep up the level of energy needed to participate in an active summer adventure. Program leaders can almost always accommodate special dietary needs.

Safety Standards

All counselors have extensive travel experience and are trained in first aid and CPR.

Windsor Mountain International is accredited by the American Camp Association and meets more than 300 safety standards set forth by the organization.
