Choice Camps Recommendation of Windsor Mountain International
Since opening in 1961, Windsor Mountain International Summer Camp has hosted campers and staff from all 50 states and over 60 foreign nations located on every inhabited continent on earth. The camps unique approach brings young people together from many backgrounds to share cross-cultural experiences and celebrate diversity while participating in sports, arts, waterfront, and individual activities. Underlying the fun and adventure of a Windsor Mountain summer is a strong commitment to experiential learning and to the personal growth and development of each individual camper. The Windsor Mountain staff promotes respect, responsibility, leadership and appropriate risk taking, while learning through discovery. For campers looking for a fun and culturally diverse summer, Windsor Mountain International Summer Camp is a one-of-a-kind choice.
Windsor Mountain features a directed free choice camp program in which campers choose their own activities with the help of their counselor. Every three days, a variety of classes are offered for each of the four periods of the day. Counselors help each camper choose a combination of fun, shortterm activities, as well as longterm projects like theatre and dance productions, a competitive inter-camp soccer game, a rock climbing trip, progressive tennis lessons, or the completion of a large permanent sculpture. As campers develop specific skills and interests, they are welcome to apprentice with a counselor.
The Windsor Mountain staff represents more than a dozen countries each summer. The average staff age is 23 and most counselors have previous teaching experience. More than half of the Windsor Mountain staff returns each summer and many were former campers.

Each cabin has running water, toilets and sinks hot showers are just behind the cabins.
Older boys and girls are housed in the tent unit which is reserved for the Leaders in Training program. Students live in Adirondack-like shelters called Shirondos and in canvas tents on raised platforms. All have lights and electricity. A nearby wash center provides sinks, toilets, and hot showers.
