Choice Camps Recommendation of Wolfeboro Camp School

Wolfeboro combines a scholastic and recreational summer program for girls and boys ages 11-18. Wolfeboros academic program is designed to achieve clearly-defined academic goals, and to improve study habits, study skills, motivation, organization, and confidence. At Wolfeboro, students may review or preview academic subjects, strengthen basic skills in specific areas, and take courses for credit by arrangement with their full year school. Sustained focus and improved productivity are fostered comprehensively by the school's computer and cell phone free classrooms, study halls and campus. The emphasis is on step by step procedure, neatness and attention to detail in all written work.

A summer at Wolfeboro is far more than academic. The focus on afternoons and weekends turns to a wide range of sports, recreational, and entertainment opportunities both on campus as well as within the surrounding summer resort area. For families seeking an academic progress and a recreationally satisfying program, Wolfeboro provides a 100 year tradition of purposeful offerings in both the outdoors and in the classroom.

Program Description

Academic Program
Wolfeboro is first and foremost a school. Students and their families work with the school to craft an appropriate individual academic program consisting of three courses. Any three-course combination will promote improved study habits, study skills, organization, motivation and confidence.

Subject offerings include: English, Written Expression, Literature, Reading, Mathematics, Science, History, Foreign Language, SAT Preparation, ESL, and Study Skills.

Non-Academic Program
Athletic and recreational activities are organized by age group. The students enjoy spirited intramural games and activities. Every student is assigned to an intramural sports team. These teams participate on an almost daily basis in soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, and a series of informal competitions such as a water carnival, land carnival, swim meet, sailing regatta, and various other sports.

Weekend trips are scheduled to events of special interest and include excursions to places such as the White Mountains, water and amusement parks, movies, bowling and roller-skating.
