World Sports Camp is located on the campus of The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, Massachusetts. With a premiere private school setting, WSC boats some of the finest athletic facilities found at a summer camp. The campus’ athletic facilities recently underwent a $12 million renovation, making the campus an ideal setting for an instructional-based sports program.

While WSC offers a variety of sports activities, instruction is mainly concentrated on tennis, soccer, basketball, and golf. Top-notch instructors with extensive professional sports backgrounds teach campers of all skill levels proper techniques and the fundamentals of team play.

World Sports Camp is unique for its emphasis on diversity – since the program’s inception, campers have attended from more than 76 different countries. Campers come from all around the globe to experience WSC’s top-notch program and work with their professional staff. For campers looking for strong programs in tennis, soccer, basketball, and golf, with great facilities and coaches, World Sports Camp may be the perfect fit.

Program Description

World Sports Camp offers a free choice sports program that focuses on fun and fundamentals. Extensive tennis, golf, soccer, and basketball programs allow campers to improve their skills, compete in inter-camp events, and learn the basics of fair play. This is accomplished through positive reinforcement coaching with skill level training from high level coaches and counselors.

World Sports Camp allows campers to choose their sports and the degree they will be involved. Attention is given to treating all campers equally, with value and understanding given to the beginner as well as the advanced athlete. Approximately 2/3 of each activity period is dedicated to instruction while the other 1/3 is allocated for game play. Sports activities are supplemented by off-site trips to local hot spots, amusement parks, and more.

Staff Overview

World Sports Camp’s directors personally interview all staff members during a competitive selection process. The return rate of the WSC staff is approximately 70% year after year, with the average staff member being 23 years of age. In addition, many counselors were once campers themselves at WSC.

All of the Head Coaches at WSC are either professional players or professional coaches in their respective sports. Most WSC coaches are members of their Division I or Division II college teams or play on a club team in different parts of the world.

Approximately 1/3rd of the WSC counselor staff hails from around the world. The camp believes that having at least one staff member from each country represented by the campers allows overseas campers to feel more comfortable transitioning from home life to camp life.

Setting & Accommodations

World Sports Camp is hosted at The Williston Northampton School in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. The campus is approximately 2 hours west of Boston and 3 hours north of New York City.

Campers live in comfortable dorms with 2-3 students per room. Each lounge has a television, refrigerator, and microwave accessible to all campers.

World Sports Camp offers meat and vegetarian options at every meal. In addition to the main entrée, a salad bar, soup, deli bar, cakes, and fresh fruit are available at every meal. The dining hall overlooks the campus pond.
